Jay Chung is best known for his work as a guitarist for Springfield’s reggae/rock powerhouse Fear Nuttin’ Band.  Jay is also a prolific songwriter and singer, so it was natural that his work would branch out in new directions. Since last fall, he has been working with fellow Fear Nuttin’ guitarist Chris Regan to create a new original rock/reggae outfit, the Jay ChunG Band.  Chris supports Jay on the bass, and they brought in well-known local drummer Dan Holmes to provide masterful beats.

They had a great debut at Bishop’s Lounge at the end of April. Currently they’re working on an album and planning some local shows for the summertime. You can see an acoustic version of one of Jay’s songs “Resident Alien” on his web page. The music is dope, the lyrics are positive, and they have the fierce honesty that makes reggae music such a powerful force in the music world. Boomblaze!
