Oh Welz and the Wooks is a folky, funky band mixing ska, jazz, rock and roll, hip hop and a lack of better judgement, together creating THE WOOKIE CALL.
The band is the combined effort of several musicians that came together in January 2011 at the Juanita Mic Open Jam at Theodore’s in Springfield. Sherm, Caity, Lance and Billy played together a few times and found that they worked very well together. Sherm and Caity asked longtime friend Bemis to come jam on bass one night and he was in. Finally, they teamed up with keyboardist Justin Bradley to complete the sound.
