Bear Mountain first got together in 1970, With Ken McKenzie, Al Bernadis, Bruce (Fugi) Robert, Mark Germana and Jim Burke. They played locally for a couple of years in Western Mass.

The band worked with several guitarists and drummers, most notably Bryant Pope, Glen Brady, Pete Bara and Jeff Alamed, now with the band Diamond Back.

Bob Cayo was originally in the band from 1990 to 1994 . Mac, Paul and Andy stayed together for about 35 years with Mac moving to Colorado in 2007.
