Balkun Brothers, P(X3), Glassberg & The Disasters from Berlin
FRI 12/13 | 8:30 PM | $5
Bishop’s Lounge | Northampton, MA
The theme of this night is CONNECTICUT BANDS and the heavy grooviness that expounds from their sound!
Rock n’ Roll / Blues / Metal / Punk / Funk
The Balkun Brothers return to their rock and blues roots on the power duo’s latest album, The Sun Studio Sessions. The brothers pay tribute to their musical forefathers with songs ranging from fast, up-tempo rock anthems to dirty, sweat-covered, backwoods delta blues.
APOCALYPTIC ORGAN DUO
Featuring two of Connecticut’s hardest working musicians, P(x3) was founded by drummer Rob Madore and keyboardist/saxophonist Isaac Young of the band No Mind. Driven by masterful improvisation, creative compositions, and a deep reverence for groove, CT’s newest duo is taking the region by storm. Both musicians have carved a name for themselves in the regional and national music scene and are now taking their collaborative efforts to a new level.
Glassberg & The Disasters
Bandleader Rachel Glassberg is not from Connecticut, but rather an Amherst townie turned Berlin expat who writes wordy, witty songs about death, taxes, internet cats, bad movies and life’s other inevitabilities. A pillar of Berlin’s little-known antifolk satellite scene, she returns to the Valley on the heels of debut album “This Was Inevitable”.
