& the Disasters
GENRE: Anti-Folk
HOMETOWN: Amherst MA
CURRENT LOCATION: Berlin
Who/What is your primary influence for Glassberg & the Disasters?
It was discovering the 2000s NYC antifolk scene (Jeffrey Lewis, Phoebe Kreutz, Moldy Peaches) that inspired me to start playing my own music in Berlin the music itself is influenced by everything from Silver Jews to John Prine to Lin-Manuel Miranda…
When did each of you first start singing or playing?
I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember, and playing guitar since about age 12.
What instruments do each of you play?
I play guitar (but also bass, drums and mandolin on my early home recordings) — my bandmate who may or may not be present plays keyboard and saxophone.
Let’s say Meltman from the overlooked Nickelodeon kids’ series Kablam! Who doesn’t want the power to… melt?
